The Layers of the Onion
This was a complete overhaul of the previous edition design. The metaphor the authors use for their layered approach to to explaining the different levels of computer is an onion. The layers of the illustrated onion used in the chapter openers are color-coded to help guide the reader through each topic of the book.
This title was a winner of the College Print, Single category of the Bookbuilders of Boston 58th Annual New England Book Show.
